The Lightest Republic of San Marino is one of the smallest states in the world, as well as the oldest state in Europe created in the early 4th century (301st year). It is surrounded by Italy and borders with the Emilia-Romagna and Marche regions.
San Marino is a state-museum in the open air, where treasures of human civilization are preserved - medieval castles, historical monuments with breathtaking panoramic views. Each of the nine districts is a small unique city-castle.
